Ballet Concert

Do you know what is it like to share your passion with the ones you're close with? Do you know what is it like to live out your passion on stage when your mind and soul is just so absorbed in doing what you're doing that nothing else in the world matters? Being in this state of mind for 8 minutes plus was better than any kind of drugs in the world.

What is it I'm talking about, ballet concert. Ballet concert this year was awesome. Even awesome is an understatement, I cant find the perfect word to use. Reason why I haven't been blogging much lately was mostly because of this. I've been almost every single day, rehearsing for the concert. Caused pain to muscles on my body I never knew existed. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every moment of it. Painfully pleasurable.

Of course it wasn't all about the rehearsals and dancing only. There's so much more to it. Charmaine came back from Sabah, and it was lovely to see her again. Though it would be much better if it was the 5 of us again. Oh well, it will be soon. Anyways, here are some of the pictures through out the whole process of concert. Not gonna say much, pictures are worth a thousand words right? =)

Went for some shopping for make up materials for concert. Bought smoke pots, liners, glitters.. etc.
At Dave's Deli for lunch

Yes, for ballerina's, we share a cup of drink
(But we secretly eat a lot when the camera isn't out, shhh)

Celine just loves taking pictures of the floor for some reason

Lunch breaks during rehearsals are always nice yummy food to compensate the starving during class
Food Foundry with Charmaine, Caitlin, Fumi, Celine, Regina and I

Rehearsal in Civic Hall came really fast. Ahh, we were already so nervous during the formal rehearsals. We must as well be dead during concert day.

Charmaine and I

Do you see our name??

So concert day came, and yeaps, I was doing the makeup again this time. I was pretty excited to do it. Didn't have much confidence at first, but I nailed it to the spot! =)

Mika's turn! Yes, I was still in my pajamas, I was too lazy to get out of it.

Caitlin's turn

Haha, this was so candid (by celine). According to her, its the sexy pose. haha.
Had to do the makeup on myself after everyone was done. It was a challenge to do it on myself, LEFT SIDE SOME MORE =)

The dance was 8 minutes plus long. It was 8 minutes of ecstasy.
It was one of the best moment I felt myself on fire with passion.

Of course my family came. I dont know where Rianne went missing to. My dad wasn't free to come.
Amelia, Charmaine, Trisha, Aunty Judy, Me, Mum and Andrew

Both my teachers. Miss Mak and Miss Yap.
Miss Mak has been my ballet teacher since young, and Miss Yap's also my teacher, but for this concert's dance. Words cannot explain how much I appreciate this two people. I am one lucky girl to have them both as my teacher.
(oh, Miss Yap is Miss Mak's student as well)

After every concert, it is a tradition to have supper in A&Ws. With whoever it is that goes, it has always been our tradition since young. Mum needed to be back home that night, so I have my supper with Charmaine's family. Haha, when I say family, I mean all of them, including her extended family.
Charmaine Ho Su Mei and her beautiful makeup on

Time for Charmaine and I to camwhore

cheers to 17 years of friendship

There, my make up. I swear I really got irritated doing it on myself. Especially when I had to draw the part on the neck. But overall when it was done, I was pretty satisfied with it. I was more than satisfied with the make up I did for the rest.

Now that concert is over, I'm actually feeling a sense of emptiness in me. Like what Charmaine and Celine says, its withdrawal symptoms. Ahhh, I really miss concert. I miss the classes, rehearsals, I miss Ms Yap and the other dancers that danced with us. I miss the hectic times, the car rides, the butterfly feeling I get before going up stage.

Before I end my post, I would like to thank everyone for this wonderful experience. Miss Mak for being a life time teacher to me, without her, I wouldn't be dancing the way am I today. Miss Yap for being the sweetest teacher ever. She bought us keychains and got a me leotard to say thank you. Almost made me cry, and thank you for being a wonderful teacher. Regina, Fumi, Caitlin, Mika, for being there and just dancing your heart out. My family who's been supporting me in ways that no one else can. My college friends (Amsyar and gang) for attending my concert even when you live so far away, and even when we've known each other for only a while. Huge thank you to Edwin's family and Eva for cheering for me and the endless support. And most importantly, I have to say without these two girls, Celine and Charmaine, my concert would be a dull one. Without them, my concert wouldn't have come close to perfect.

If only it was the 5 of us
