International Ballet GALA 2012

 INTERNATIONAL BALLET GALA 2012

The whole show was breath taking, soul absorbing and probably a whole lot of tiny envious vibes coming out of the audience, and probably most from Celine. Sometimes, I just sit there and wonder why am I not up there. It would really be lovely to be able to dance this way. First, a reliable partner.. haha.

Sneak Peak picture
By far the most breathe taking dance, Carmen.

If you read the last post, we were at Jalan Binjai, ACME, Troika before we headed to Istana Budaya. I think we got there a tiny bit too early. Then again, if we came any later it would be close to impossible to find a parking. Would probably end up with the valet parking. Haha, it would be that bad also I guess. Walking in like a boss, leaving like a boss, dressed up... like a boss. HELL YEAH.

Got there early, bought some junk food to sneak into the show. shhhhh. I think we still had an hour before we were able to enter the hall so we sat in the cafeteria and did our thing.

Forgive the quality of the picture

Was using the stupid phone to capture the picture. Bad quality indeed.

Anyways, we finally got in the hall and the view from our seats really wasn't too bad. Was able to see clearly without any back or neck strains.

So this is the programme for the night

Pas de deux from ‘Diving Into the Lilacs’/ ‘Somewhere in Time’

I must say this, the opening program by Malaysia, conducting a Malay Traditional Dance was absolutely out of line and was horrible. Seriously, I was speechless. Firstly, this is a ballet GALA. Why throw off a traditional dance and make it seem as though we have no good ballet dancers in Malaysia. None that is good enough to perform and represent Malaysia to do an opening for the GALA night? Seriously? I've seen great talent in Malaysia's ballet dancers in FAB and many other schools. A million times better fitting for a Ballet GALA night. Secondly, the traditional Malay dance. Honestly, I've seen better traditional dances. It was slow, it was boring, it had no climax, it was a very bad opening to represent Malaysia in such a big night like this. Thirdly, you want to represent Malaysia? Please have a multicultural dance at least because last I checked this is still a multicultural country and its this that makes us unique. Seriously give one of our teachers to choreograph a traditional dance, they'll come up with something so much better.

Anyhow, the dances compensated for the lack of everything from the opening act
